CHARLIE WILSON NOMINATED FOR TWO 2010 GRAMMY AWARDS

Veteran Performer Garners Nominations for
 Best R&B Album and
Best Male R&B Vocalist

(Los Angeles – December 3, 2009):  Jive Recording artist Charlie Wilson  has received two 2010 Grammy nominations for Best R&B Album for “Uncle Charlie”  and Best Male R&B Vocalist for his single, “There Goes My Baby.”  This is the first time that Wilson, who has one of the most distinguished voices in R&B music, has been nominated for a Grammy Award.  

“I am at a lost for words,” stated Wilson upon hearing the news.  “I am overjoyed, excited and proud.  2009 has been an incredible year for me.”

“Uncle Charlie” debuted on the Billboard R&B/Hip Hop Album Chart at #1 and the Billboard Hot 200 Chart at #2.  “There Goes My Baby” was a #1 hit for 10 weeks and spent 52 weeks on the Billboard Hot R&B Adult Singles Chart.  Charlie’s current single “Can’t Live Without” is #3 on the same chart and has remained on that chart for over 25 weeks.

Wilson, former lead singer for the funkadelic brotherly trio, the GAP Band, recently received the 2009 Soul Train Icon Award.  He also received the Rev. Charles Williams Award at the 2009 Indiana Black Expo for his work on behalf of prostate cancer.  A prostate cancer survivor, Wilson is a spokesman for the Prostate Cancer Foundation.

Wilson, AEG Live and P Music Group Donate a Portion of Ticket Sales to The MusiCares Foundation and The Prostate Cancer Foundation

(Los Angeles – July 10, 2009) – Charlie Wilson is confirmed to perform at Club NOKIA on Friday, July 17, 2009. The concert was initially scheduled for Saturday, July 18th at the NOKIA Theatre L.A. Live. Tickets purchased for the July 18th date will be honored. Wilson will be performing hits from his critically acclaimed solo CDs, Uncle Charlie, and Charlie, Last Name Wilson, as well as hits from the legendary GAP Band.

Wilson, together with AEG Live and his management company, P Music Group, will be donating a portion of the ticket sales to The MusiCares Foundation and the Prostate Cancer Foundation.

“I’ve been clean and sober for 15 years,” stated Wilson, “and I know and appreciate the work that MusiCares does for our industry and am proud to be associated with them.”

Wilson was diagnosed with prostate cancer last year and is currently in remission. He is a spokesman for the Prostate Cancer Foundation and is committed to “informing as well as performing.” The Prostate Cancer Foundation is offering a special package for the evening. For a donation of $250.00, purchasers will receive two tickets to the show, two passes to Club NOKIA’s VIP lounge, and two passes for a private meet and greet with Charlie Wilson following the performance.
